Who I am

This website is operated by Sarah Chen, a consultant solicitor practising through Nexa Law Limited (SRA number 800001). Sarah Chen's individual SRA number is 567890.

For the purposes of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018, the data controller for information collected through this website is Sarah Chen, contactable at sarah@sarahchen.co.uk.

What information I collect

When you use the contact form on this website, I collect: your name, email address, telephone number (if provided), and the content of your message. I may also collect technical information about your visit including your IP address, browser type, and pages visited.

How I use your information

I use the information you provide through the contact form solely to respond to your enquiry and, where applicable, to provide legal services. Contact form submissions are processed by solicitor.law (operated by Kesters Nook Limited) on my behalf and forwarded to me by email.

The lawful basis for processing your personal data is: (a) legitimate interests — to respond to your enquiry and manage my practice; and (b) where you instruct me, performance of a contract for legal services.

Who has access to your information

Your contact form submissions are processed by solicitor.law (Kesters Nook Limited) as a data processor on my behalf. They store your submission securely and forward it to me. I do not share your personal information with any other third parties except where required by law, by my regulator (the Solicitors Regulation Authority), or where necessary to provide legal services to you (for example, sharing relevant information with the other side's solicitors in the course of a transaction).

How long I keep your information

Contact form enquiries that do not lead to an instruction are retained for up to 12 months and then deleted. Where you instruct me to act, I retain your file for a minimum of 6 years after the conclusion of the matter, in line with regulatory requirements and limitation periods.

Your rights

Under the UK GDPR, you have the right to: access the personal data I hold about you; request correction of inaccurate data; request deletion of your data (subject to legal and regulatory obligations); restrict or object to processing; and data portability. To exercise any of these rights, please contact me at sarah@sarahchen.co.uk.

If you are not satisfied with how I handle your personal data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

This website uses only essential cookies required for the site to function. I do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
